Last updated: January 9, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Conlanger ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Conlanger is a web-based platform for creating, managing, and collaborating on constructed languages (conlangs). The Service allows users to define phonologies, build lexicons, create grammars, design writing systems, and work collaboratively with others.
3. Account Registration
To use certain features of the Service, you must sign in using your Ave account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Ave account and for all activities that occur under your account.
You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating languages and collaborating with others.
4. User Content
4.1 Ownership
You retain all ownership rights to the languages, words, grammars, and other content you create on Conlanger ("User Content"). We do not claim any ownership over your User Content.
4.2 License to Conlanger
By creating User Content on the Service, you grant Conlanger a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you and your collaborators.
4.3 Public Content
If you make a language public, you grant other users a license to view your language content. You can make a language private at any time to revoke this access.
4.4 Content Guidelines
You agree not to create or share content that:
- Violates any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Contains hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content
- Is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
- Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Impersonates others or misrepresents your identity
5. Collaboration
When you add collaborators to a language, you grant them access to view and potentially edit your language based on their assigned role. You are responsible for managing collaborator access and permissions.
Collaborators must respect the language owner's creative vision and work constructively within the collaborative environment.
6. Intellectual Property
The Conlanger Service, including its design, features, and underlying technology, is owned by Conlanger and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service without our permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
